Nusinov Smith Law Firm Wins Tax Dispute Saving Tom Clancy’s Estate $8 Million
Norman Smith and Jeffrey Nusinov represent Mrs. Alexandra Clancy, Tom Clancy’s surviving spouse who contested the Will interpretation of attorneys at one of the largest law firms in Maryland. Smith and Nusinov moved to prevent the Estate from paying an extra $8 million in estate tax, $6 million of which would have been paid by Mrs. Clancy’s Trust.
Both the Orphans’ Court for Baltimore City and the Court of Appeals of Maryland, the highest Court in the State, sided with Smith and Nusinov, finding the personal representative’s wrongful interpretation “would be in direct derogation of Mr. Clancy’s intent.”
Smith and Nusinov once again displayed their expertise and experience in estate litigation, prevailing in this high profile and vigorously contested multi-million dollar estate tax dispute.
